Meetings of the Parish Council are held monthly in the Parish Room by St Mary's Church, Crosthwaite, starting at 7.30 p.m.

Notices of meetings are posted on the Argles Memorial Hall noticeboard, on the Parish Council noticeboard at the Old Post Office and on this website at least three days before each meeting. Please use the Agendas or Minutes tabs on the menu bar above for meeting details.

Public Participation:

Parishioners and other members of the public are welcome to attend meetings of the Parish Council which are held monthly in the Parish Room by St Mary's Church, Crosthwaite, starting at 7.30 p.m.

Early in the Agenda there is an item for public participation during which members of the public may address the Parish Council and raise issues to which they wish to draw attention. Individual contributions are limited to approximately 3 minutes. The Parish Council is not bound to respond to issues raised at this stage (though it might do so) and will either deal with the matter at an appropriate point on the Agenda or note the item for consideration at a future meeting. Following this item, public attendees are welcome to stay and listen or may leave as they choose.

The NEXT MEETING of the Parish Council will be an Ordinary Meeting to be held on Monday 07 September 2026 at 7.30 p.m. in the Argles Memorial Hall.

The Annual Parish Meeting

Every year parishes are required to hold an assembly for local electors. Members of the public attend and may raise any matters relevant to the parish. Local electors may vote on any issues. The Parish Council and other local organisations give annual reports. The Chair of the Parish Council hosts and arranges this event, but it is not a Council meeting.
